Karl Lagerfeld

As Pierre Balmain’s assistant at 17, this man was destined to be great. From then on, he has collaborated with the likes of Fendi, Jean Patou, Chloe and Chanel… not to mention running his own label ‘Karl Lagerfeld.’

Lagerfeld has created costumes for various operas and ballets, most notably La Scala, The Florence Opera House, the Burgtheater of Vienna and the Monte Carlo Ballet.

Thats not all.

1997 marked the end of the Lagerfeld company however he launched a new label, ‘Lagerfeld Gallery.’November 1999 saw the opening of the bookshop ‘7L,’ followed by the publishing company ‘Editions 7L.’ So lets add bookstore and publishing company to the resume.

A documentary film has been made in honour of Lagerfeld, and is to be launched during Berlin’s International Festival.

Something even cooler? Karl Lagerfeld is in the French dictionary.
