The Melbourne Design Market.

I Just came across the Melbourne Design Market website. Probably one of the greatest concepts the city has come up with, anyone and everyone can showcase their stuff there….

“Occupying a special place in everyone’s diary, the market is now held twice a year in July and December. Over 10,000 visitors are drawn to its carpark location at Melbourne’s Federation Square, transformed for each occasion into a design show that features the latest in fashion, homewares, furniture, lighting and so much more.”

— uhh… yes please.

Many designers use the Melbourne Design Market as a launch pad for new business enterprises… If you are an upcoming designer we suggest you get on that shit asap.

It is open to anybody and its usually free, however stall holders do need to apply for a stall and there are fees for successful applicants.

“Distinguishing the Melbourne Design Market from all others is a rigorous selection procedure for prospective stallholders to ensure the quality and diversity of the products on offer. Given that it’s such a successful forum to launch new products, the market receives many more applications than can possibly be accepted. Successful businesses will need to prepare themselves for a big day of sales, orders, and most of all, meeting new clients and receiving valuable feedback on their business.”

Woohooooooooo….. permanent marker this into your diary/phone/back of your hand people.

THE NEXT MARKET IS ON THE 5th DECEMBER TWENNY TEN>>> *thats 2010*
